TIPS for DOGEARED JEWELRY CARE

Hey, hey hey…we KNOW you like to wear your Dogeared jewelry ‘round the clock, but to keep your pieces sparkling clean, we have a few recommendations.
  • Water promotes oxidation, so remove your jewelry before you swim, shower, wash dishes, participate in sweat-inducing workouts…you get the idea.
  • Be gentle with your jewels: direct contact with chemicals in hairspray, perfume and cosmetics is sticky and icky for jewelry. We are not a fan of harsh jewelry cleansers or cloths with abrasive compounds either.
  • Gently buff your jewelry with our polishing cloth to help remove any oils or tarnish.

TO CLEAN GOLD PLATED PIECES

Gently clean using a soft toothbrush and a bit of mild dishwashing liquid in warmish water. Rinse well and pat gently to dry thoroughly. Be sure your jewelry is completely dry before storing.

SWAROVSKI CRYSTALS

Our little lovely sparkly Swarokski crystals need extra care. Use a soft toothbrush with warmish water to clean and pat dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Do not use the baking soda method for items with Swarovski crystals.

ADDITIONAL TIPS

Store your jewelry in a zippered baggie or pouch to keep oxygen away from the surfaces. The little black square that comes with sterling silver product is actually an anti-tarnish strip! Insert it into your storage bag.

How to clean Dogeared Jewelry?

Caring for Dogeared jewelry is easy, and there are just a few simple rules to follow.  Don't shower or swim with your jewelry on, and take it off before you wash dishes or work up a vigorous sweat. The same goes for chemicals like hairspray and cosmetics- these aren't good for your Dogeared pieces. A gentle buffing cloth is the only thing you should ever use to polish your jewelry.
